The Council Spokesman

Throughout the length and breadth of the State of Israel, hundreds of heritage sites and thousands of historical buildings are scattered. Each and every one of them is a chapter in the wonderful story of the founding of the State of Israel: a story of Zionism, pioneering, determination and heroism of all those thanks to whom we are here today

The Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites in Israel has been working for about 40 years, tirelessly and around the clock, to enable the inheritance of this story to the general public and future generations. It does this as an umbrella organization for more than 200 heritage sites throughout the country, through the actual preservation of buildings and sites of historical importance, uncompromising struggles to prevent the destruction of such sites, a variety of educational and tourist activities, the operation of a network of preservation trustees and volunteers, cooperation with preservation agencies and organizations abroad, professional conferences and more

The Council’s Spokesperson’s Department works with all media outlets – national, local, written, electronic, and so on – in order to bring and make all of the Council’s activities accessible to the general public. At the same time, a lot of work is invested in increasing the Council’s presence on social networks, which are now a central source of information for many, especially the younger generation

You are invited to join us: visit the sites, take part in the struggles and activities, and of course – contact us with any updates from the field and any relevant questions or issues. Together with you, we will ensure not only to preserve the past, but also to ensure that it forms a vital basis for the present and the future
