About Adele Ramer
Adele made aliyah in 1973 following the Yom Kippur War. She built her home and family in Kibbutz Nirim, and worked for decades as a teacher and educator at the regional high school Nofei HaBesor.
On October 7, Adele was in the safe room of her kibbutz home, under attack by terrorists. Since that day, she has been displaced along with the rest of the kibbutz, now temporarily living in Be’er Sheva. Through photography, Adele has found a way to process her trauma and hold on to life and hope.
Her portraits of evacuated kibbutz members, taken while in Eilat, were part of the “Local Testimony 2024” exhibition.
Today, she continues to prepare for her return home.
