The Valley Train started in Haifa
Its first stop was the Tel El-Shamam station, right here where we are standing
A few years later, a moshav was built next to the station
The moshav was called Kfar Yehoshua, so the station’s name was also changed to Kfar Yehoshua
Seven buildings were built at the Kfar Yehoshua train station
The buildings housed the station workers: the station manager and his family and the workers who laid and repaired the tracks
After the train stopped operating, the station workers left and the buildings fell into ruin
The building facing you have been conserved
Many years passed before the old buildings underwent conservation
Conservation means repairing and rebuilding everything that was ravaged over the years
After it was conserved, the building looked like it did when the station was in operation
In 2008, the Visitor Center was established inside the buildings that were repaired
The Visitor Center tells the story of the Valley Train
